Dr Kesu Kumar was well respected among the villagers .He was sought out for any medical and psychological needs in the village.Married for over 15 years with Mrs Remya Kumar .They had two kids Srimaya(12) and Sridhar(7).Remya was a housewife and spend most of her time in the kitchen and rest was spent on reading religious books.Kesu and Remya could never some to a consenses.They argued they fought but they always had a mutual respect for one another.Kesu was more attached to kids.He would take care of teaching them, dropping them to school ,ensuring their lunch box was full.

Sridhar while batting kept on thinking why did Dr Kumar say that life has ups and downs.His unsettled mind troubled him.He could not concentrate and got bowled early.He couldn't resist and ran to his house.As he entered the door, he saw Dr Kumar in tears stepping out. He looked inside and the thrown away utensils suggested there was a fight.He went inside and say his mother crying.Sridhar went to his room and locked his door.He kept staring at the sky, thinking about what can he do.The summer vacations were about to end, he wanted to go to school.Not because he liked being in school but to be out of the quarrels.The young mind had got its solace in books.
